Teorijska istraživanja sustava čije je ponašanje bitno određeno velikim brojem čestica. Istraživanja su fokusirana na pojave u sustavima i procesima invarijantnim na skalu, a otvorena su za interdisciplinarne primjene od biologije do društvenih procesa.
Glavni pravci istraživanja:
- modeliranje klasičnih i kvantnih sustava uz primjenu renormalizacijske grupe i srodnih pristupa te numeričkih metoda
- kritične pojave u sustavima s dugodosežnim interakcijama
- utjecaj nereda i geometrijski aspekti faznih prijelaza
- neravnotežni procesi; fazni prijelazi u sustavima izvan ravnoteže
