Fullerene, carbon nanotube and graphene. The new form carbon allotropes, so called “nanocarbon”, was one of the important materials for a mainstream of nanotechnology and nanoscience. On the other hand, we do not know the details about aromaticity and tunning of the ground state in simple organic molecules.
We focus on the concerted phenomenon induced by molecular degrees of freedom and electron correlation in a simple organic molecule and fullerene. The electronic properties of carrier doped-organic molecules and fullerene have been studied so far mostly by optical and magnetic measurements, and systematic electrical transport measurements have not been employed due to experimental difficulties. In order to have a more accurate understanding of these systems, electrical transport properties are required. We revisit the essential experiments of electrical transport in the hydrocarbon Mott insulators and overexpanded fullerides. Nanocarbons including simple organics have opened a new platform in material science.
