The International Conference on Strongly Correlated Quantum Materials (ICSCQM) — Hvar 2025 will take place from 12 to 17 October 2025 in Hvar, Croatia.
The event is organized by an international committee of scientists, with support from the Institute of Physics, the Department of Physics of the Faculty of Science at the University of Zagreb, and the University of Split.
This will be the ninth conference in the series, following the inaugural meeting held in Hvar in 1999. Over the years, the conference has become an important platform for both experimental and theoretical physicists working on strongly correlated electron systems.
The 2025 program will feature lectures by distinguished international experts highlighting recent advances in the field, while also providing younger researchers with the opportunity to engage with the latest developments.
The scientific scope of the conference includes:
- novel materials for topological insulators,
- skyrmions,
- low-dimensional, inhomogeneous, and multilayered magnetic systems,
- unconventional superconductors,
- Kondo-like systems,
- quantum critical metals, and related areas.
These materials present fundamental challenges for both theory and experiment, but also hold significant potential for future technologies.
Financial support comes from the Institute of Physics, the European Union, ICAM–I2CAM, the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts, and the ASYMMETRY Project in Japan.
More details about the program and registration can be found on the conference website.
