A group of scientists and students from the Institute of Physics, Ruđer Bošković Institute, and the Faculty of Science (University of Zagreb) visited the Infineon production complex in Villach, Austria, on June 11.
Infineon is one of Europe’s leading semiconductor manufacturers and a frontrunner in innovations in power electronics and IoT solutions.
The visit was organized as a continuation of the collaboration initiated during the IPCEI Workshop held in December 2024, when the Institute of Physics hosted representatives from Infineon and partner institutions.
During the tour of the Villach facility, participants visited the cleanroom for chip manufacturing, the failure analysis department, and attended lectures by Infineon experts on knowledge and expertise in the semiconductor industry.
Additionally, our students had the opportunity to present posters and their research work to Infineon experts.
The visit also included discussions on potential scientific and research collaborations, funding opportunities, and joint project applications.
