On March 11, 2026, Institute employees visited the companies gathered in the 3D group – Izit, Tehnoprogres, and Topomatika, specialized in innovative solutions in the field of 3D printing. The goal of the visit was to become familiar with the available equipment and to exchange experiences on the application of modern production and material testing methods.
During the visit, modern technologies and devices available to the academic community and companies were presented:
-
3D printers: Various methods and possibilities for printing polymer and metal samples were presented.
-
3D scanning: (Robotic) devices for imaging and digitization of samples with various geometries were presented, as well as model preparation techniques for production.
-
Diagnostics: Various devices for sample diagnostics are available at the companies, from industrial CT for structural testing to optical microscope systems for deformation mapping and analysis.
A meeting was held where possibilities for joint project applications and the continuation of cooperation between academia and industry were discussed. The goal of future cooperation will be to link the Institute’s scientific research with the innovative techniques offered by the 3D group.
